  • Size: Measured by length and diameter, ranging from small to large.  
  • Shape: Should be typical of the variety, ranging from slender and tapered to cylindrical or blunt.
  • Color: Should be uniform and vibrant, typically orange, but can also be other colors depending on the variety.  
  • Firmness: Should be firm and crisp, not soft or wilted.
  • Skin: Should be smooth and free from blemishes or cracks.
  • Freedom from Defects: Carrots should be free from decay, mold, insect damage, and mechanical injury.
